Fatal Crash: 26-Year-Old Woman Hits 2 Utility Poles In Newtown

A 26-year-old woman was killed after losing control of her SUV and hitting two utility poles in Fairfield County.

The incident took place in Newtown around 8:30 p.m., Thursday, April 20 on Berkshire Road. 

Newtown Police, along with Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire and Newtown Ambulance responded to a single-vehicle crash on Berkshire Road between Sherman Street and Zoar Road, said Sgt. William Chapman of the Newtown Police.

An investigation determined that a silver 2021 Subraru Impreza driven by Putnam County, New York resident Jessica Bulfaro, age 27, of Carmel, drove off the side of the roadway, striking two utility poles, said Chapman. 

Bulfaro was pronounced dead at the scene.
